The Kent and Medway Business Summit returns to the University of Kent (part of the London and South East University Group) on Thursday 17 September, bringing with it the first major opportunity for businesses to collectively discuss the region’s political future following confirmation of plans for Local Government reorganisation earlier this summer.
Political broadcaster, Iain Dale, will be chairing discussions on devolution at this year’s Summit, Reset Kent and Medway, with the region’s identity and economic reality equally high on the agenda.
Delivered in partnership with the Institute of Directors, Federation of Small Businesses and Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Kent Business School, the Summit creates space for businesses, entrepreneurs, policymakers, educators and civic organisations to come together to tackle these questions head on and shape a roadmap for what comes next.
Taking place in Canterbury, the event features an economic update from the Bank of England, an inspiring keynote address from ex-CIA agent turned CEO, Rupal Patel, and networking tours of some of the University’s unique facilities. Delegates will also have opportunities to make connections over breakfast, a Kentish Lunch, and a drinks reception sponsored by Biddenden Vineyards.
The Summit, comes at pivotal moment both for Kent and Medway and for the University, which this August merged with the University of Greenwich under the London and South East University Group, becoming the largest higher education institution in the South East.
