Rebecca is a Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes leading and teaching on in-sessional and pre-sessional programmes and has been at the University of Kent since 2011.
Rebecca has led and taught extensively on English for Academic Purposes (EAP), EFL, Cambridge English (FCE), IELTS, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), English for Special Academic Purposes (ESAP) and teacher training courses in universities and language schools in the UK; she has also undertaken Erasmus exchanges in France and Finland. Rebecca graduated with a distinction in both her Diploma TESOL and her Master's in TESOL, in which she specialised in verbal memory and its development with the use of popular song.
Rebecca is also an experienced CELTA Main Course Trainer (MCT) and successfully managed and led the CELTA course at the University of Kent 2012–2018. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has published in several ELT journals. She enjoys developing stimulating materials relevant to student needs and learning platforms and is a regular reviewer for the Journal of English for Academic Purposes (JEAP).
