- Dr Wissia Fiorucci
A Senior Fellow of Advance Higher Education, Wissia serves as the Honorary Secretary of the University Council of Foreign Languages (UCFL).
Fluent in multiple languages, she has developed global partnerships fostering opportunities for intercultural exchange and she is the convenor of the Fluent Futures programme at the University of Kent.
As Language Centre Director, she leads curriculum innovation, champions digital transformation, and cultivates student success through equitable and inclusive practices.
Wissia’s research interests focus on education, language education, and intercultural communication, with notable publications including Language Education During the Pandemic: Rushing Online, Assessment, Community (Palgrave, 2023), “Educationally Authentic Assessment: Reframing Authentic Assessment in Relation to Students’ Meaningful Engagement (with Prof. Kathleen Quinlan, Teaching in Higher Education, 2024)”, as well as the forthcoming The Impact of AI on Language Education: Practices, Challenges, Futures (Palgrave, 2026).
Wissia convenes and teaches modules on Intercultural Communication as well as Language Education.
Wissia welcomes PhD proposals on education, language learning and teaching, intercultural communication.
