- Dr Suyang Li
Dr Li holds a master’s degree from the University of Glasgow and a PhD in Finance from the University of Nottingham. Before joining Kent, he was a Lecturer in Finance at Swansea University, where he served as accreditation and admissions lead for the Accounting and Finance programmes.
Suyang's research takes an interdisciplinary approach to corporate finance, integrating labour economics, sustainable finance and political economy. His work examines how firms manage risks from internal and external pressures to strengthen their competitiveness in capital and product markets, with a particular focus on employee governance, human-capital management and labour-market frictions.
Dr Li has extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching focuses on sustainable finance, risk management and related areas of financial practice and analysis.
Suyang has been involved in professional accreditation work with bodies such as ACCA, ICAEW and the Chartered Banker Institute, and contributed to curriculum transformation at the programme level. He is an External Examiner for Ulster University, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education.
