2020: ‘Unprecedented' - a call out to students

A call out for student artists

2020 has been a year of unprecedented events, with COVID and lockdowns impacting on our personal freedoms and altering the way we can interact as a society. We end the year with hope of a vaccine and the promise of a return to normality in 2021. But what will 2021 bring and what will that normality be?

Now, we want to capture your experiences of 2020, and your hopes for the future in a new digital exhibition. Open to any University of Kent students, 2020: ‘Unprecedented’ on thegulbenkian.co.uk will be launched in January 2021.

From photographs and short films, to poetry and music. Anything goes. The submissions can be serious, abstract, funny or experimental. You can submit individually, or with others. Why not make something with your flatmates, or if you’re having to self-isolate, take this opportunity to experiment with different art forms individually.

The exhibition will be curated into 3 themes: The Small Things, Movement and Connections.

Entries must be provided in digital format as a film or images and supplied to creativeengagement@kent.ac.uk by Dec 18 2020.
