Thesis title and description
Commemoration of the Great War in Wales, 1914—1939
Jenny's thesis examines Great War commemoration in Wales from 1914 to 1939. She is particularly interested in the differences in tone between English- and Welsh-language commemoration, and how it reveals differing priorities and narratives even within the same communities.
This work is supervised by Professor Mark Connelly and Dr Stefan Goebel.
Jenny represented the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as an intern during the summer of 2017, and worked in the CWGC archives from 2019 to 2020. She also volunteered with the War Memorials Register at the Imperial War Museum, London, in 2016.
