Josh is a postdoctoral associate at DICE, working with the Food and Nature Programme. His current research aims to apply theory from social psychology, to understand wild meat consumption in West and Central Africa. The goal of this work is to reveal the types of messaging that could encourage more sustainable food choices.
Josh completed his PhD at the University of Stirling in 2023, using GPS collars and stable isotope analysis to study sexual dimorphism in mandrills. After completing his PhD he worked at the University of Stirling, researching how economic conditions affect wild meat consumption in Gabon, and at Forest Research, studying UK woodland restoration using field methods and LiDAR remote sensing.
