Amanda Xuereb

Business Administration BA (Hons)

I loved how multinational the University was.

What was your dream job as a child, and what is your dream job now?

My dream job was to become a Judge; in fact I was originally accepted to study Business and Law at Kent but the entrepreneur inside me took over and I chose to focus on business. My dream job now is the one I currently have. I work with entrepreneurs in the beauty industry making their dreams become reality.

Why did you choose to study at Kent Business School?

I fell in love with the campus and the fact that the University was so international.

What are your favourite memories from your time at Kent?

Nothing beats a good night out at the Venue! Apart from that, I loved how multinational the University was. I made lifelong friends at University who I am still in touch with today. I also made the most of my time by getting involved in societies, being a course rep and signing up to do a one-year exchange in Hong Kong.

What have you been doing since graduating?

I joined my family business after graduating and have been busy travelling the world opening up different markets. Then, four years ago I founded Beauty Trill. I support beauty entrepreneurs to create beauty brands. I love supporting entrepreneurs and seeing their brand and products come to life.

How do you apply the knowledge and skills you gained during your studies in your job?

University taught me how to reason and exposed me to a diverse range of different cultures which enabled me to understand and conduct business with different cultures.

What career advice would you give to students and fellow alumni?

There are three guiding principles that have got me through the past 10 years: persistence, positive attitude and sense of purpose.

What are your future aspirations?

I want to continue to make a positive impact, even if just a small one, in this wonderful world.

What advice would you give to current students studying at Kent Business School?

Have fun! Take the opportunity to network and make lifelong friends.
