Overview

Continue your journey through the foundations of science. In this module, you will continue to explore the molecules that are fundamental to human life and the reactions that take place in cells of every organism that make them work. You will learning about how essential proteins and enzymes exist in everyday life, the metabolic processes that allow us to create energy, and some of the chemistry that underpins these processes such as equilibria, acids and bases. Through engaging problem solving exercises and interactive, thought-provoking lectures, you will deepen your academic knowledge in these areas, exploring the factors that drive chemical and biological processes. Upon completion of the Foundations of Science modules, you will be familiar with key principles underpinning all natural sciences, so that you can develop your interests further within your selected degree course.
