Overview

Put the cultural expertise you have gained so far into practical use in small group settings you will design a public event. The form and content of this event will be decided by you - under guidance of the module convenor. Possible formats include: a film festival, an arts exhibition, a literature reading, an academic conference. You will design the concept of the event, produce promotional material, devise a budget and simulate how to manage the event (produce an opening statement, moderation scripts, etc.). This will enable you to gain valuable career-related experience and to enhance their employability portfolio. During the first weeks of term, you will be introduced to this module and the necessary skills and methodologies through a series of lectures and workshops. After that, you work on your projects independently but will be supported in your work through regular supervision sessions.
