Overview

Embark on an introduction to interaction design, where you'll learn to shape the digital tools and platforms that are integral to our daily lives. This course is designed to blend your creativity with technical skills to improve the functionality and relevance of digital interfaces, from apps to websites. Focused on user-centred design, it empowers you to create experiences that resonate with a diverse audience, emphasising the importance of making your designs accessible and inclusive for all.
This module takes you beyond basic usability, encouraging you to consider how your designs can have a positive impact on society. Through studying fundamental design principles and methodologies, you'll acquire the skills needed to develop digital products and services that are both meaningful and effective.

Design Concepts Portfolio worth 40%.
Assessment Details: Mini Project worth 60%. This Assessment is Pass Compulsory.

Learning outcomes

On successfully completing the module, students will be able to: 
1) Justify a user-centred approach for successful interaction design.
2) Identify and interpret diverse user needs and preferences in shaping the design of interactive systems.
3) Apply user-centred design approaches and ideation techniques to creatively address practical design challenges.
4) Develop and refine low-fidelity prototypes, employing user feedback and usability testing to iteratively improve design solutions.
