Junhan graduated from Kent with a BSc in International Business in 2021, and now works as an HR Coordinator for Trina Solar Europe. After completing his degree, he pursued a master's at Durham University before joining Trina Solar, where he led the corporate culture and transformation project.

He describes his time at Kent as transformative, boosting his confidence and guiding him toward a purposeful career.  


Tell us about your career path since graduation.

After completing my BSc in International Business at Kent, I pursued a master’s degree at Durham University. Following my graduation, I joined Trina Solar as an HR Coordinator, where I have been working since.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

Well, a good day for me is one where I’m energetic and able to support my team to perform well and enjoy their work. I start at 8 and finish at 5, focusing on various tasks including communication and report production, which I truly enjoy.

Can you share a professional highlight from your career so far?

A key professional highlight has been leading the corporate culture and transformation project at Trina Solar Europe.

How did your time at Kent help you achieve your current career?

My time at Kent was incredible. It built my confidence and helped me find my place in the job market. Also, it offered me valuable life lessons on living happily with purpose.

What advice would you give to our current/prospective students who are looking to get into the same line of work?

  1. Be brave and pursue internships; they’ll help you discover what jobs you enjoy and which ones you don’t.
  2. Focus on understanding yourself, especially your personality, as it can shape your career path. The best career is the one that suits you.
  3. Adopt a mindset of helping others succeed, as their success can ultimately lead to your own.

Did you get involved in any extracurricular activities as a student?

TreKent (Hiking Society), Chinese Association.

Do you have a favourite memory from your time at Kent?

My favourite memory from Kent is the feeling of walking around campus, which often felt like strolling through a forest—it was truly amazing!

Is there anything you would do differently if you could repeat your time at Kent?

I would spend less time gaming and focus more on doing meaningful things for myself and the community.

Are you still in touch with other Kent alumni or academics?

Not so much.

What are your future ambitions?

To be a wise and compassionate human being.
