Tizard

Amanda is a PhD student at Tizard. She is investigating the experiences of children and young people who have (facial) cleft in addition to an intellectual disability. She is also interested in the experiences of their families and of health professionals who work in regional cleft services. Amanda is working with service users to help develop her research.

Amanda holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology (University of Sussex 1999) and an MSc Health Psychology (University of the West of England, Bristol 2005). Amanda also works for an NIHR Research Design Service as a Public Involvement Officer and delivers disability equality training to University staff and students. She also mentors students with mental health difficulties.

 

Teaching

Amanda has taught first and final year undergraduates in Psychology and more recently, Amanda has taught postgraduates in (qualitative) Research Methods.
