The Biology degree programme allows you to investigate a variety of life forms ranging from simple viruses to bacteria and more complex animals and plants. Your first year modules will provide a broad survey of the various biological disciplines including cell and molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry and physiology of animals and plants. In subsequent years these are integrated and developed further in the study of gene regulation, development, the regulation of metabolism and human health and disease. In the final year your choice of option modules and topics courses will allow you to study some of these areas in greater detail.
