Training simulations

Training simulations

Experience immersive, research-informed learning tools that let you explore complex child protection scenarios in a safe, reflective environment.

Using the 'serious game' concept can allow you to experience the kind of situations that arise when working in a profession that involves child protection. Whatever stage you have reached in your career, our simulations offer a unique way to evaluate child protection situations in a realistic but also completely safe environment.

The training allows you to enhance your skills as a practitioner and learn how to use the simulations when working with children and young people. See below for the range of child protection topics covered.

What is simulation-based training?

Our 'serious game' simulations place you in realistic, emotionally complex safeguarding scenarios — offering a safe, engaging space to explore decision-making and build confidence. Whether you're new to child protection or an experienced practitioner, our tools help you navigate challenging situations, reflect on practice, and strengthen key professional skills.

These simulations can also be used directly with children and young people - supporting education around online safety, grooming, exploitation, and court processes.

Why choose simulation-based training?

At the Centre for Child Protection, we create immersive, research-informed simulations that mirror the real-world complexity of safeguarding work. Our training combines these tools with expert facilitation, enabling powerful learning experiences that stay with participants long after the session ends.

Simulation training is ideal if you're looking to:

  • Strengthen critical thinking and reflective decision-making
  • Build confidence in handling complex safeguarding situations
  • Explore diverse perspectives and outcomes
  • Practise collaborative and multi-agency approaches
  • Receive expert guidance in a safe, supportive setting

Whether you're supporting families, working with children, or teaching future professionals — our simulations offer a meaningful, practical route to better safeguarding.
