This award is open to both UK residents and international (this includes EU) candidates.
To be classed as a home student, candidates must meet the following criteria and the associated residency requirements:

If you are applying as an overseas student (this includes EU nationals), Kent will waive the difference between the Home and Overseas fees. Please be aware that there is a 30% cap on international studentships across the consortium.

Collaborative Doctoral Awards (CDAs) are doctoral studentship projects which are developed by a university based academic working in collaboration with an organisation outside of higher education. They are intended as a way of facilitating collaboration with a diverse range of partners including smaller, regional partners.

To be considered for a CHASE Collaborative Award at Kent you must follow the below steps carefully. You will only be considered for a studentship if you complete each step by the Kent deadline of Monday 17 February 2024 at 12:00 noon GMT.
Step 1: Download and complete a Kent Collaborative Doctoral Award Application form from the Collaborative Doctoral Awards website (navigate to the project you are apply to and find the ‘How to apply’ section).
Step 2: Apply for the appropriate PhD programme at Kent
Research Proposal – in this section of the online application, indicate the project title and details of the CHASE Collaborative Doctoral Award.
Reasons for Study – in this section please copy and paste your statement from the Collaborative Doctoral Award application (see Step 1).
Supervisor – please indicate the Project supervisor as your primary supervisor.
Step 3: Submit your Kent Collaborative Doctoral Award Application Form to the Graduate and Researcher College by emailing kentgrc@kent.ac.uk by the deadline. You MUST complete this step to be considered for a CHASE Collaborative studentship at Kent. Please enclose the following information in your email submission:
