The University of Kent has been recognised for its excellent apprenticeship provision as a finalist in the ‘Best University for Apprenticeships’ category at The Apprenticeship Guide Awards 2026.

The ceremony, which took place on 30 April in Leeds, welcomed a record-breaking number of attendees, bringing together employers, training providers, universities, schools, colleges and apprenticeship champions from across the UK to recognise outstanding achievement across the sector.

Whilst Kent narrowly missed out on the award, the shortlisting was a significant achievement in itself, reflecting the dedication of everyone involved in Kent’s apprenticeship programmes and the high-quality provision that his achieves.

Chris McCarthy, Business Development & Relationships Manager in the Apprenticeship Unit, said on behalf of the team: ‘We were really proud to attend the awards, representing the University of Kent alongside so many brilliant organisations.

‘It was a great evening and a chance to step away from the day-to-day and take in the bigger picture, seeing the people, partnerships and programmes that are making a real difference to learners and employers across the country. We also had a lovely moment catching up with one of our employer partners, Catapult, who were nominated for an award too. It’s always great to see our partners recognised in this way!’
