Entrepreneurial Founding Conditions and Future Survivability of New Businesses
Close to 70% of the Ghanaian population depends on the government for employment. However, the government is unable to meet this overwhelming demand. As a result past governments since the 1992 Fourth Republic have implemented policies to encourage private businesses to grow to be able to correct this job deficit. Records from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor indicate that a little over 90% of start-up businesses collapse every year in the Asian and Sub-saharan African Regions, including Ghana. It is therefore imperative that this study is done to identify the failure, and critical success factors of new ventures, as well as the founding conditions that are critical for businesses to survive and grow.
