About

I work on modern Turkish literature. I focus on the relationship between ideology and literature. I do research and publish on the representation of Islamic discourse, especially in Turkish literature. A related book on this subject will be published in 2018. The relationship between literature and ideological thought, travel literature, orientalism and occidentalism are my academic interests.
Since September 2017, I have been working on a project entitled "Seeing the Other: The European and Ottoman Social Structure, Culture, Art and Literature in the Nineteenth Century English and Turkish Memoirs And Diaries."
