About

Peter Matthews gained his BA in Zoology from the University of Cambridge, and later completed an MSc in Conservation Biology, and then a PhD, at DICE. His PhD considered how alternative landscape-scale patterns of adoption of ecological farming impact regional sustainability, and the drivers of change that could generate these patterns. His multidisciplinary research experience has included regional and international collaborative projects, in such diverse topics as: land-use conflicts in conservation, the relationship between climate change and heritage protection, the economics of historic transport networks, and assessing sustainability of alternative European agricultural systems at different spatial scales.
