About

Chris teaches Philosophy and Politics for University Study on the Foundation Programme. He has broad experience of teaching undergraduate and master’s modules in Political Philosophy, Political Science, Area Studies and International Relations Theory since he started teaching in 2012.

He received his BA in Politics and International Relations with a Year in Japan in 2010 and an MA in Political Theory and Practices of Resistance with distinction in 2012. Chris then completed his PhD in Political and Social Thought with no corrections in 2016.

Chris’s research is focused around two distinct, yet interdependent, areas. His first specialisation is in the ethics of political resistance, in which he is guided by the research question ‘what might non-dogmatic political resistance look like, and how should it be evaluated?’. His second specialisation is in the nature of truth, an area in which he works to advance a theory of truth that avoids a return to both Cartesian dualism and a retreat into sophistry.
