Using the logo

A University logo must appear on all communications.

  • The logo should always be clear and visible.
  • Do not try and recreate the logo.
  • The logo should never be placed onto a background that makes it difficult to read.

Vertical logo

The minimum exclusion zone for the vertical logo is twice the height of a capital U from ‘University’.

The minimum width for the vertical logo is 17.5mm.

Horizontal logo

Use is limited to specific applications eg PowerPoint® presentations, horizontal banners, forms and merchandise, and must be approved by the Design & Print Centre.

The minimum exclusion zone for the horizontal logo is equal to the height of a capital U from ‘University’.

The minimum width for the horizontal logo is 20mm.

Colour ways

On the web, only the blue on white colourway should be used.

In print, the logo may be used in the colourways below (Kent Blue, black and reversed white out of a colour or image).

Examples of incorrect logo usage

Illegible logo due to background
Do not place the master logo on an image which makes it illegible
Incorrect logo with web address
Do not replace the tagline with any other information such as web addresses
Incorrect logo at an angle
Do not angle, tilt or add effects
Incorrect logo with subbrand
Never create your own sub-brand
Distorted logo
Do not distort or squash the master logo
