Tell us about your career path since graduation.

Since graduation, I moved to Canada where I worked survival jobs and now working as part of the Partnerships Development Team in a National Non-profit organisation.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

A typical day for me involves strategic planning, identifying potential partners, and coordinating with internal teams to align activities with organizational goals.  Other activities include reviewing and responding to emails, preparing and delivering presentations to partners and discussing projects and new initiatives. I monitor project progress, update records, prepare performance reports, and follow up with partners.

Can you share a professional highlight from your career so far?

A standout moment in my career since graduation has been planning and hosting a highly successful webinar that attracted over 100 participants. The event was a significant achievement, requiring meticulous planning, coordination, and promotion. It not only enhanced my skills in event management and public speaking but also provided valuable insights and fostered meaningful connections with a diverse audience. This experience was both rewarding and instrumental in advancing my career.

How did your time at Kent help you achieve your current career?

My time at Kent Business School was instrumental in shaping my career, particularly by enhancing my skills in data analysis and presentation. The rigorous curriculum and practical projects allowed me to develop a deep understanding of data-driven decision-making and effective communication. These skills have been crucial in my current role, enabling me to analyse complex data sets, create impactful presentations, and effectively convey insights to stakeholders.

What advice would you give to our current/prospective students who are looking to get into the same line of work?

My advice to current and prospective students looking to enter this field is to focus on improving your presentation and networking skills. Take every opportunity to practice public speaking, whether in class, at events, or through extracurricular activities. Building a strong network is equally important; attend networking events, engage with alumni, and connect with professionals in your desired industry. These skills are invaluable and will greatly enhance your career prospects.

Did you get involved in any extracurricular activities as a student?

As a postgraduate student in an intense, one-year MBA program, I did not have much time to join formal extracurricular activities. However, I made a point to engage with my peers and faculty informally, attending various academic and social events. These interactions enriched my experience and allowed me to build a strong network within the Kent community

Do you have a favourite memory from your time at Kent?

My favourite memory from my time at Kent is participating in the International Business Challenge. It was a transformative experience that allowed me to apply classroom knowledge to real-world business scenarios. Collaborating with a diverse team to solve complex challenges and presenting our solutions was both challenging and immensely rewarding. The experience not only sharpened my business acumen but also forged lasting friendships and provided invaluable insights into global business dynamics.

Is there anything you would do differently if you could repeat your time at Kent?

If I could repeat my time at Kent, I would prioritize participating in more networking activities. While I focused intensively on academics and professional development during my MBA program, I recognize the immense value of networking for building relationships and exploring career opportunities. Engaging more actively in networking events and connecting with a broader range of professionals would have enriched my experience and expanded my professional network.

Are you still in touch with other Kent alumni or academics?

Yes, I am still in touch with several Kent alumni and academics. Maintaining these connections has been valuable for ongoing professional development and staying connected to the university community.

What are your future ambitions?

My future ambition is to successfully grow my start-ups, leveraging the skills and knowledge I gained during my MBA. I am committed to building innovative ventures that make a positive impact in their respective industries, contributing to economic growth and creating opportunities for others.
