During my studies I started working in the communications department at a European trade organisation based in Brussels, which led me to work for a Brussels-based communications agency, working for corporate clients with an interest in shaping EU policy. I then worked for a number of different communications and digital agencies in London, often for international clients. Over time, my communications, brand and design work took on more and more creative projects, and I started working for organisations in the creative sector and also invested more time into my creative practice as a visual artist. This ultimately led me to work for the University of the Arts London, where I was able to combine my commercial experience with my creative background in a role that supports the delivery of more inclusive and equitable student experiences, with a focus on online education.
Every day is different, which I absolutely love. Working for such a large university means that I get to collaborate with lots of different people with different backgrounds and points of views on a daily basis, which might mean attending workshops or working collaborative online to find new ways of improving our students' experiences. This might mean developing new processes or policies, working on creative campaigns, or working with students as partners. Outside my work at the university, I often work on more personal creative projects, such as exhibitions or commissions.
There were so many, but perhaps launching a digital app for artists at the Royal Academy of the Arts; that felt pretty special.
My time at Kent and the degree I achieved very much opened up a range of brilliant professional opportunities to me. It also connected me to an amazing network of other students that inspired and encouraged me to do what I do today.
Say yes to new opportunities and be open-minded to where they might lead you.
I ended up working while studying, which took up a lot of my time. However, I did manage to squeeze in French and dance lessons whenever I could.
Outside some of the amazing lectures, there were some absolutely brilliant socials that we organised and attended.
Not a thing.
Absolutely, I made some of my closest friends while studying at Kent.
Do more of what I love, which I imagine will include lots of creative projects, and see where it takes me.
