We are part of Information Services and work in collaboration with other departments to fulfill the web needs of the University, staff web authors, and also affiliated and external clients.

The team consists of ten full-time developers, designers and a dozen or so student designers and developers.

Web Development and Support Services (also referred to as the IS Web Team) has two specific remits:

Services for departments

We assist academic and support departments with all aspects of developing a website, including:

  • web content creation (including images and interactive elements)
  • web design
  • web publishing services
  • basic, assisted or full web development
  • web publisher support and training
  • View all services on 'Kent on the web'
Central web developments

Examples of this work include:

  • the systems behind the new web template
  • the student portal
  • ecommerce services
  • interactive online services such as the online directory
  • web applications (forums, search engine, and more)
