Office Communicator is an instant messaging service for University of Kent staff that enables them to communicate and collaborate easily with others in different locations or time zones using a range of different communication options. It allows users to:
- participate in instant messaging conversations with each other
- have group conversations by inviting other users to join your chat session
- see if colleagues are online and therefore make informed choices about when and how to contact them
- transfer files to colleagues
- have voice or video conferences with multiple users
- decide the best way to reply to an email as Communicator integrates with ConnectMail via Microsoft Outlook.
It can be used on your staff PC on campus, or off campus using your own PC: there is no need to be connected to the Kent network in order to use it.
