Conservation Society

The Conservation Society was brand new to the Unversity of Kent last year and already won the 2008 prize for best student society. Our purpose is to raise awareness of and take action in the field of conservation of wildlife and the environment with individual students, the university, and the wider community. Our main aim is to make that as much fun for everyone involved as it is for monkeys to try and wee on guests at the zoo! This year we also aim:
- To have practical involvement with campus and local conservation projects.
- To improve the universities sustainability/ green credentials through campaigning for policy change
- To increase recycling facilities (and use) on campus
- To make students more accountable for their environmental impact on the campus
- To network with other Kent organisations
- To organise talks and training of interest to the societies members
- To promote charities or organisations relevant to conservation
Want to make a difference in your spare time at Kent? Join the Conservation Society if you want to have fun, do your bit, and meet lots of friendly like-minded people. It's a 3 in 1 deal!
