DICE has 9 core academic staff who both run research programmes and undertake teaching. Additional research staff have appointments based on research grants. Additional teaching staff convene modules on certain teaching programmes.

Research interests: Evolution, ecology and conservation of birds; global biodiversity hotspots; evolution and ecology of extinction risk; causes of mortality in cetaceans and amphibians.
Dr Richard Bodmer
Reader in Conservation Ecology
Research interests: Population dynamics and community ecology of rainforest mammals; community-based conservation, sustainable use, wildlife management in tropical ecosystems.
