Our Open Days are designed to give you a real flavour of what it is like to live and study at the University of Kent.
We have some excellent facilities for you to visit, including the library and student accommodation, over 50 subject areas for you to explore and a number of talks, events and activities. You can also take a walking tour of our beautiful parkland campus.
Due to the popularity of our open days, we ask that you book a place online. Booking usually opens 4 weeks before the event.
We understand that you may be visiting many universities while you are making your decision, so have a look at our top tips for an enjoyable and successful day. We have also included approximate timings for you to help with your planning.
The campus is made up of 300 acres so we recommend comfortable shoes. We normally book sunshine and blue skies for open day but please bring a waterproof jacket, just in case!
Focus on your subject(s) of interest and visit the subject stand
We have two campuses and three centres with different courses available at each. Please check which of our locations offer the course you are interested in by using our online course finder.
Each subject will have an information stand where you can speak to admissions and academic staff on a one-to-one basis. You can pick up additional course information, subject leaflets and find out about assessment methods and the admissions process
Attend an academic subject talk/demonstration
The subject talks/demonstrations are designed for prospective students who are new to university study. These sessions will give you an idea of what it is like to study your subject at Kent and you will also have the opportunity to ask questions
If you are planning on studying part-time, or at postgraduate level, you are are welcome to attend but are encouraged to first visit the appropriate subject stand to talk to staff about your intended area of study.
Attend a general information talk
Our general talks programme will cover the following areas:
Go on a walking tour of campus
If you're planning on moving away from home, you should take the opportunity to explore the campus to get a sense of whether you would be happy studying and living at Kent. Even if you're local, you'll be spending a lot of time on campus so it's worth having a good look round.
We have student helpers along the route to help you find your way. They are very friendly and love talking about the University, so don't be shy and make sure you ask them lots of questions!
Visit a study bedroom
If you are planning to move away from home, visiting a study bedroom will give you an idea of what it's like to live on campus. We offer a range of accommodation at Kent; including bed and breakfast/bed and bistro options in the colleges and self-catered flats and houses. All accommodation costs include gas, electricity, water, internet access and limited insurance cover for personal possessions. View current accommodation rates.
If you select Kent as your first choice University and apply before 31 July in the year of entry, you will be offered on-campus accommodation (Insurance, Late, Adjustment and Clearing applicants will be offered accommodation subject to availability).
We will have a number of study bedrooms available to view on the day. Staff from Kent Hospitality, plus student guides, will be available outside each of the accommodation buildings and will be available to answer questions. You can also speak to staff from the Accommodation Office in the Sports Centre.
And finally...make time for lunch!
We have a number of cafés and restaurants open throughout the day where you can get a bite to eat and take the weight off your feet. Our student convenience stores, Essentials and Park Wood Essentials will also be open.
