Welcome to Mathematics
The present research interests of the Mathematics Group include non linear phenomena, applied analysis and differential equations, geometric integration, integrable systems, Lie groups and moving frames, mathematical physics and quantum groups, representation theory and invariant theory, computational algebra, discrete mathematics and functional analysis.
The group comprises 3 Professors, 2 Readers, 2 Senior Lecturers, and 8 Lecturers. We also have Emeritus Professors, Roy Chisholm, Alan Common and John Shackell and one research assistant.
We have a thriving group of postgraduate research students and we welcome enquiries from prospective students wishing to study for a PhD, MPhil or MSc (by research) in Mathematics. We will be offering a taught MSc in Mathematics and its Applications from Autumn 2010.
