Good Supervision: Introduction to Supervision at Kent

This workshop is aimed at new doctoral supervisors at UoK, those with limited experience, and those looking for a refresher. It provides a comprehensive introduction to the practicalities and responsibilities of supervision from application to completion. Topics covered include: Selecting and inducting new students; Working within a supervisory team; Feedback and progress monitoring; Supporting your student’s training and development needs; Ensuring ethical integrity; The examinations process.

Throughout, we will consider different styles of supervision, and how to work with students to develop an effective supervisory relationship.
