We’ll be hosting an Instagram vote so you can decide which Turkish film will be shown on the night. Come and enjoy an evening of powerful storytelling and culture, with Turkish snacks provided to complete the experience. Whether you’re familiar with films from Türkiye or discovering them for the first time, everyone is welcome.
Film will be - 'Paper Lives' - is a 2021 Turkish drama about Mehmet, a kind-hearted waste collector in a poor Istanbul neighbourhood who helps homeless kids. One day he finds an 8-year-old boy named Ali and, determined to reunite him with his family, takes him under his wing. As their bond grows, Mehmet confronts his own troubled past while trying to protect and care for the boy
