Get ready for an epic summer of cinema under the stars! Kent’s outdoor cinema is back for the Gulbenkian’s Summer Festival! Enjoy a different movie every Thursday, 9pm, on the Gulbenkian lawn for the duration of the summer term*.

The festival will be showing a variety of different films, from 80’s cult classic, Back to the Future; to eerie American horror, Get Out.

Summer Festival cinema events are free and non-ticketed, so you can just turn up on the day!

*Excluding Platinum Jubilee bank holiday

Will there be food and drink?A selection of delicious food and drink will be available for purchase during the event. Enjoy homemade pizza, ice cream, popcorn, sweets, and drinks while you sit back and enjoy the film.

There will also be an outdoor bar, serving a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

If you’ve settled in and don’t want to miss a minute of the movie, you can order from your table/hay bale using the Order Up! app. Simply select the ‘Gulbenkian Events’ option on the app to place your order.

Can I bring something to sit on?There will be hay bales to sit on, but you are more than welcome to bring backrests, chairs, or picnic blankets to watch the film.

What happens if it rains?As we all know, the Great British Summer can be unpredictable! The event will not go ahead in the event of bad weather, so make sure to check social media for updates. No one wants to sit outside in the rain. 

What time does the film start?The film starts at 9:00pm, but you are more than welcome to arrive earlier, get comfortable and order some snacks before the film begins.

Can I smoke?Smoking is not allowed within the seating areas. This includes e-cigs and vapes. Please smoke away from the audience area and be considerate of other guests while watching the film.
