The bOing! International Family Festival returns to the Canterbury campus on 27 and 28 August, with a programme of arts, cinema and immersive experience for all ages to enjoy.

Over the two-day festival, there will be lots of free outdoor performances and activities, with a programme of artists from across the UK and beyond.

Free outdoor events include Pirate Taxi, a circus show suitable for adventurers of all ages with original live music, humour and extraordinary aerial performance. Other highlights include a performance of The Rascally Diner by LAStheatre (inspired by award-winning children’s book ‘The Rascally Cake’), virtual reality thrill ride Volo: Dreams of Flight (for those aged 8+) and The Royal Poodle Parade.

There will also be a number of ticketed indoor performances such as the world premiere of Alice by Jasmin Vardimon Company, the return of Dybwikdans – a performance for babies – and the return of bOing! favourite, the Architects of Air Luminarium. Several family films will also be shown in the Gulbenkian cinema such as Minion: The Rise of Gru, and there will be engaging workshops to sign up to.

bOing!’s partnerships with Kent Sport continues with Sport Mini Sessions, and the University’s School of Engineering will be running sessions alongside SOCORRO focusing on the process of corrosion.

The full schedule of events is listed on bOing!’s website. Ticketed events for the festival are on sale at: https://boingfestival.com/whats-on/ticketed-events/

bOing! is run by Gulbenkian Arts Centre and is part of a programme of theatre and film for families that runs all year-round.
