Kent is hosting a series of free online summer schools for Year 10, Year 12 or Level 3 first year college students as an introduction to university life in July.

The summer schools will help students to understand their options and make choices about the next steps in their educational journey.

With an overarching theme of ‘Breaking Barriers’, students will learn about breaking personal and academic barriers. They will experience taster sessions based on Kent’s research themes such as ‘Future Human’ and ‘Migration and Movement’, gaining understanding around the overlap of subject areas and expertise. Furthermore, students will learn about building a fairer community, creatively exploring solutions to inequalities. Kent student ambassadors will facilitate sessions to help students bring to life ideas such as through posters, an essay, podcast or video.

Participation in Kent’s summer schools is recommended for any student looking to develop their knowledge, skills and experience to stand out in their job, sixth form, college and university applications.

Applications for Kent’s summer schools are open to all local Year 10, Year 12 or Level 3 Year 1 college students. Students are encouraged to apply directly by Sunday 16 May.

The summer school for Year 12/Level 3 Year 1 College students takes place from Tuesday 20 – Friday 23 July 2021. Apply here.
