Public feedback sought for Framework Masterplan

Canterbury campus

The University has published a draft of its Canterbury campus Framework Masterplan, which sets out a vision for the future of its largest campus and the context within which future planning decisions will be made.

The public are now invited to offer feedback on the document until Monday 3 June 2019, after which a final version will be produced and shared with Canterbury City Council.

The Masterplan is built around a series of principles that allow the University to evolve responsibly while making a positive contribution to the wider community. Any future development is focussed in the existing core of its campus, while the University’s unique status overlooking the historic city of Canterbury is celebrated and preserved.

Its publication follows extensive consultation on both its initial concept and emerging themes throughout the process. Residents groups, local businesses and the wider public have all been consulted, with the University’s Estates team also drawing on expert advice from Kent County Council, Canterbury City Council and Kent Highways.

The current round of feedback will be the final opportunity for input before the final Masterplan is published. Respondents can submit comments via a contact form, by emailing masterplan@kent.ac.uk, or by calling 01227 824009.
