Kent students discuss Brexit views

Students from the University have been discussing their views on Brexit in a major piece in The Observer.

The article discusses the view among many students across the country that there is not enough focus on the longer-term impact any Brexit deal will have on young people.

Kent Union president Ruth Wilkinson and first-year physics student Sam Mortimer are quoted in the article discussing these concerns and urging politicians to consider their views amid the ongoing negotiations.

The story also notes that Kent’s student union is one of 60 across the UK to have signed a letter sent to local MPs demanding a second referendum on any proposed Brexit deal. The call is being made by a group called For Our Future’s Sake that is coordinating Brexit action among student groups.
