PubTalk events take place monthly in Canterbury

The first of our community pubTALK events for 2018 takes place on Monday 5 February in Canterbury.

It will feature Dr Tracy Kivell on the topic “Thumbs up! The evolution of our hands”. Dr Kivell is Professor of Biological Anthropology within the School of Anthropology & Conservation. She will talk about what is unique about the human hand, the traits that we share with other primates and what newly-discovered hand skeletons of fossil human ancestors reveal about the evolution of our hands.

pubTALK is a monthly series of informal discussions held at the Jolly Sailor pub in Northgate, Canterbury. They feature a short talk from an expert on a topic followed by a Q&A. The events are open to the public and are held on the first Monday of every month from 7pm to 9pm.

You can find out more about upcoming topics in this year’s series at the pubTALK website.
