Friday night: the Weekend Warm-Up

- Adam Dorr: West End New Act of the Year 2025 and rising comedy star.
Saturday morning: explore our open doors
Ever wondered what actual university students get up to? On Saturday morning, you can drop in to all of our Academic Schools to explore the facilities and meet current students showcasing their projects and work. It’s the perfect, low-pressure way to visualize your future studies and chat with the people who were in your shoes just a year or two ago.
Saturday afternoon: Culture Fest on the Templeman Lawn
This is where you’ll truly experience the fun, vibrant heartbeat of campus life. Grab your friends and family and head to the Templeman Lawn, where the Kent Student Union is pulling out all the stops. Expect pop-up food stalls, a lively summer bar, free festival makeovers by Fenwick, and a massive showcase of student societies.
Our current students will be taking the stage all afternoon to show you how we celebrate community. The incredible line-up includes:
- Unleash Your Talent Collective, D3 (David Okotie): Rapper and Kent icon, blending explosive wordplay with entrepreneurial hustle.
- Kent Gospel Choir: Legendary performers and winners of the University Gospel Choir of the Year (2023 and 2025)!
- Marcellus Almazar: Singer-songwriter and Winner of last year’s Cultural Showcase.
- The Circus Society: Prepare to gasp in amazement and laugh out loud at skills that will blow your socks off.
- Tayo Fanifosi: A Stage 3 Architecture student and Big Band vocalist reworking modern pop tunes into smooth jazz standards.
- The Kent DJ Society: Soundtracking the afternoon with pure summer vibes to welcome the solstice.
- Simply the Zest: the zany theatre group bring fruity high drama to Culture Fest, with some sharp citrussy flavour!
Sunday: the Jazz Brunch
Wrap up your preview weekend with a relaxed Sunday Jazz Brunch. Watch current student Tayo Fanifosi share the stage with Earl Okin – an international jazz and Bossa Nova artist, songwriter, and one of Kent’s very first “First 500” students from when the university began. It will be the perfect ending to a perfect weekend and a glimpse into the lifelong community you are about to join.
Don’t just read about campus life—come and live it for a weekend. We can’t wait to welcome you to Kent!
