Louise Willsher is a PhD Student in Philanthropic Studies, at Kent Business School.
PhD Title: What is the "place" of volunteering?
A mixed methods study which seeks to improve understanding of the conceptualisation of place as connected to voluntary action, the significance of place for volunteers, and the values and cultures associated with place-based philanthropic activity.
Louise's research interests include theories of place and place attachment, the role of volunteering and voluntary action in communities, how volunteers develop, articulate and share meanings or values, and social memory.
Supervised by Dr. Ellie Jupp and Dr. Karl Wilding.
