Open Innovation and Collaboration in Healthcare
Many industries today including health care have been changing with the way new product developments are being made. A major focus for healthcare sectors in the recent times can be seen in products being made based on specific requirements of a disease. Not withstanding the concept of ideas being generated only within the organisation with the intent to being able to reach the market first.
Now, the focus has shifted to crowdsourcing the ideas from anyone within and outside the organization. This study will understand how the specific requirements of patients can be understood by open innovation to co-create value.
Letting the customers participate in providing feedback to new technology or medicine that has been invented could be one of the convenient ways to know if it is ready to reach the market or not. The improvements done on this basis before it is launched could have better impact and also increase the chances of success of the given product.
Collaboration among practitioners, other industries including biotechnology, pharmaceutical and also the end user could lead to efficient patient experience. However, this ecosystem collaboration could take time and be difficult to adopt.
