Charlotte is a former English Literature teacher and political writer. She is a published poet and the former Canterbury Poet of the Year. She is pursuing her PhD in Medieval and Early Modern Studies.

Charlotte is also leading the campaign to get Aphra Behn, the first professional woman writer, a statue in her hometown of Canterbury.

Thesis title and description

'A New Examination of the Early Years of Aphra Behn'

Charlotte is working on her PhD about the early life of the first professional woman writer, Aphra Behn (1640-1689). Charlotte’s focus is on establishing a biographical form that will enable an examination of Behn’s childhood (1640-1658) spent in and around the city of Canterbury.

Charlotte's thesis is supervised by Professor Catherine Richardson.
