- Ben Hammond
Ben Hammond is a non-binary marxist historian and postgraduate researcher at the University of Kent. Ben studied largely queer, medical and anti-imperialist history throughout both an undergraduate History and Master's Modern History programme at Kent. Ben also gave the opening talk at the 2021 ‘Mainstreaming Queerness: The New Queer Vanguard’ Conference for Queer Disrupt out of the University of Warwick.
Ben is working on a doctoral study of the role of entertainment media as a mode of propaganda during the Iraq War. Their research centres on how this media created the modern American cultural understanding of its own military, and its neo-imperialist understanding of its enemies.
