Research interests

Working Title: Baldassarre Turini and the Villa Lante: The Patron's Career and Role in Raphael's Workshop

Pamela’s project considers relationships between artists and patrons in Renaissance Rome, examined through the life and career of Baldassarre Turini, a minor patron with connections to prominent artists and members of the Papal Court. His villa in Rome was designed and decorated by members of Raphael’s workshop, which promotes further consideration into topics such as architectural history, villa decoration, and management of artistic projects.
Pamela is interested in relationships between artists and patrons, ideas of identity and self-fashioning through the visual arts, workshop organization, and the role of the antique in Renaissance arts and culture.
