Course structure

You'll start by exploring the structure of language, foundations of linguistics and speech sounds. You then move through sociolinguistics, the study of meaning and communication, stylistics to explore texts, and the global spread of the English language.

How you'll study

Teaching involves a combination of lectures and seminars, and there may be additional workshops, discussion groups and practical sessions.

As an English Language and Linguistics graduate, you will have developed the key skills that employers look for, including the ability to think critically, communicate your ideas and opinions, and work independently and as part of a team. Tuition fees for 2024 entry

The 2024/25 annual tuition fees for this course are:
