Overview

Ready to take your quantitative research skills into the real world? In this module, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your knowledge in a practical setting, either through a work placement with an organisation or by working on a research project. You could find yourself contributing to projects within third sector entities, local authorities, or private companies. You'll be hands-on in designing projects, collaborating with other researchers or teams, and tackling the real-world challenges of using quantitative research methods.
Beyond just developing your practical research skills, this module encourages you to reflect on the challenges of working as a quantitative researcher and track your individual progress throughout the project. You’ll have the support of a Kent supervisor, and if you’re on a work placement, a supervisor within your host organisation too. Before you dive in, there will be taught sessions covering essential skills and knowledge for conducting practical quantitative research in applied settings, including data security, ethics, and project development. Get ready to step into the role of a quantitative researcher and make an impact!
