This module will explore renewable energy sources and learn about developments in associated technologies to generate electricity to meet the rising demands for clean energy. After exploring the impact of fossil fuel on environment, you will get an overview of various renewable energy sources and associate challenges and opportunities. We will then focus on some major sources – like solar energy and wind power technologies – in more details. You will also briefly look at other likely sources such as wave and tidal energy, hydropower, geothermal energy, etc and a brief overview of energy storage. Thus, you will get an in-depth exposure to various technologies proposed for meeting world's growing demand for green energy.
