Understanding the intricate workings of economic systems is crucial for navigating the complexities of modern societies. Economists achieve this by simplifying complex economic phenomena and focusing their analytical attention on key mechanisms. This module is designed to introduce you to this process and so prepare you for undergraduate study in economics.
The module will cover both micro and macro analysis but will not attempt to replicate the A level syllabus. It will focus on a few topics and study them in depth, providing you with a deep understanding of the models and also how they can be used in policy analysis. By the end of this module you will not only be fully prepared for the next stage in your studies but also have experience of economics in practice.
