The aim of this module is to enhance the understanding of soft operational research tools and systems thinking including system concepts such as influence diagrams. Operational Research Specialists strengthen their understanding of the strategic choice approach, soft systems methodology, cognitive mapping/SODA and multimethodology and more.

On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
Systematically apply Soft OR systems concepts and critically examine the main ways that it differs from hard OR.
Critically analyse soft OR methods and propose systematic solutions to unstructured and complex problem situations.
Effectively communicate information, complex arguments and analysis in a variety of forms and to a variety of professional business audiences.
