Overview

In this module you will advance your use of software modelling tools to structure, analyse and solve a variety of business problems related to practical issues such as sustainability, healthcare, infrastructure projects and more. You will also acquire actionable knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) as a means to automate different software functionalities and create user-friendly applications. Enhance and get challenged on your practical business analyst skills!

Learning outcomes

On successfully completing the module, students will be able to: 

Critically examine the logics of modelling and how sustainable systems may be represented in mathematical form.
Critically examine an organisational problem, represent it quantitatively and critically evaluate and analyze the data output using industry-standard spreadsheet software.
Build spreadsheet models for the analysis of real-world problems using the theories and paradigms of Operational Research.
Undertake advanced analyses of practical problems using the VBA programming language.
